The Dakota Building, located in New York City, is a historic and iconic residential building renowned for its distinctive Gothic architecture and luxury apartments. Built in the late 19th century, the Dakota is one of the city’s most prestigious addresses, known for its ornate facades, high ceilings, and rich history.
I put together a surface material portfolio and schedule tailored for two distinct client profiles within an apartment in the Dakota. The first profile was a budget-conscious family, for whom I curated cost-effective yet stylish and durable materials that maintained the integrity of the building’s historic charm without overspending. For the second profile, a high-net-worth female individual who prioritized luxury over convenience, I selected high-end, bespoke materials that emphasized opulence and timeless elegance. The portfolio for her included surfaces that were rich in texture and sophistication, complementing the Dakota's architectural grandeur while providing a modern touch. The schedule ensured the seamless coordination of material selection and installation to meet the specific needs and lifestyles of both clients.
